Not Now, We're Buffering

Who stores your data?

Data. data. data. We're creating and consuming more than ever before. According to IBM, '90% of the data in the world today has been created in the last two years'. Imagine that? Everything else is just ten percent.

60 million photos are uploaded to Instagram every day. Facebook said in 2013, that users had uploaded 250 billion photos in total. And billions of video on YouTube.

With all this data floating about, we're going to need a shed load more data centers. Who has them?

- Google, 15

- Facebook, 6

- IBM, 52 by end of 2017

- AWS (don't know but here's an interesting story about their North Virginia facility)

- Hong Kong, 43. Here's the list.
