It's estimated there are a quarter of a million words in the English language. It's time to lighten the load by removing (for eternity) some words and buzzwords.
Pan-
As in pan-Asia. Old fashioned. Meaningless. Out it goes.
Far East
These are the countries considered to be in the Far East? Who knew? Dated descriptor! Ditch immediately.
Thought leadership
Done to death and mostly sound like terrible mortgage-backed securities from the subprime crisis era i.e. repackaged shite. Thought leadership only works if a) there's something new or b) there's controversy. See Trump for more details on successful thought leadership and how his tweets or utterances generally result in debate, analysis, criticism or praise.
Paradigm Shift
Please God no. I remember first hearing this stunning twofer bit of drivel in the early 2000's before it was consigned to the word cemetery. Terrible couplet.
Skillset
Another one for the Spanish archer (El Bow).
Wheelhouse
What's your view from the wheelhouse? Why not just ask me for a viewpoint?
End to End Solution
No company has an end to end solution. There's always something either in between or at one end that the company doesn't do. This buzzword has seen a resurgence in the last couple of years. It was meaningless ten years ago and is redundant today.
Deep Dive
Drone-a-thon coming. Requires you to delegate rather than being voluntold.
*Voluntold. As in, 'Congratulations, you've just volunteered to attend'.
Circle Back
I'll get back to you. Chuck circle into a burning bin.
